Lithuania was right to warn about Russian threat, German parliament speaker tells Seimas

Lithuania’s warnings about the threat posed by Russia have always been justified, the speaker of Germany’s Bundestag told the Seimas on Tuesday, according to a report by public broadcaster LRT.

“You were right all along about Russia,” said Bundestag President Julia Klöckner during a plenary session. “In 2022, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and you immediately understood that Europe’s future would be decided in Ukraine.”

Klöckner emphasised that Lithuanians recognise Russia will not stop its aggression. “Putin must be stopped in Ukraine,” she stated.
