Scammers trick two residents out of €45,000
Two Lithuanian residents have lost a combined €45,000 to scammers in separate incidents, the country’s Police Department reported Wednesday.
A 62-year-old man from Panevėžys filed a complaint after paying €18,000 in January for seed he never received. Meanwhile, a 59-year-old woman in Šalčininkai reported losing €27,350 between February 23 and March 17 after being deceived by a representative of a company promising stock market investments. She later realised she had been scammed.
Preliminary investigations into both cases have been launched.
