Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė have extended their Easter greetings to the nation, calling for spiritual strength and unity in the face of challenges, LRT.lt reports.

“Let us lift our souls and our spiritual freedom, celebrating victory over sin, overcoming hardships and trials, protecting our state, and fostering resilience, strength, and unity,” the presidential couple said in their message.

The president urged Lithuanians to dedicate their efforts to ensuring that families and future generations can “rejoice in the miracle of rebirth.” He emphasised the importance of setting an example of spiritual strength during difficult times, so that children may grow “in the spirit of wise decisions.”

“May the rivers of life and the joy of faith flow above all hardships. May our souls flourish as we strengthen our homeland, Lithuania,” the message concluded.

The Easter address comes as Lithuania marks the holiday with traditional liturgies, including a service held at Vilnius Cathedral.
