Lithuania has signed an agreement to accelerate decision-making in countering airspace threats, the country’s Economy and Innovation Ministry announced on Wednesday.
The deal, signed by 10 national institutions—including the ministry, Vilnius municipality, security services, and business representatives—aims to streamline the development and deployment of innovative solutions for air defence.
Economy and Innovation Minister Edvinas Grikšas said the agreement marks the start of a second call for businesses to propose air safety prototypes, with a competition for new solutions set to launch in April. The initiative is expected to bolster Lithuania’s airspace security by fostering faster innovation.
