Lithuania records new March 29 temperature high

A new March 29 heat record was set in Lithuania on Sunday, with temperatures reaching 18.2°C in Alytus, state broadcaster LRT reported.

The previous record for the date—17.8°C—was measured in Šilutė last year, according to meteorologists. This marks the seventh temperature record in Lithuania this year and the sixth in March alone.

Last year saw 23 heat records, while 18 were recorded the year before. Over the past five years, high-temperature records have been broken eight times more frequently than cold records.
