Minor detained in Vilnius for writing “Vilnia naša” in public space

A minor was detained in central Vilnius on Wednesday after writing the phrase “Vilnia naša” (Vilnius is ours) in a non-Lithuanian language on a public embankment, the Lithuanian Police Department reported Thursday.

The 15-year-old, born in 2011, was apprehended on Gediminas Avenue. Authorities have launched a pre-trial investigation for violation of public order.

The phrase, written in Cyrillic script, was sprayed with paint on a riverside structure in the city center.
