A Lithuanian man was discovered in a state of extreme exploitation, possessing only a Soviet-era passport and denied access to medical assistance, national broadcaster LRT reports.

Relatives described the situation as “worse than in prison” after locating the man, whose identity was not disclosed. According to the report, he was left without proper documentation, holding only an outdated USSR passport, which has prevented him from receiving necessary medical treatment.

The case highlights ongoing challenges faced by individuals in Lithuania who still rely on Soviet-era documents, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation and unable to access basic services.
