NATO fighter jets to conduct training exercises over northern and western Lithuania

NATO fighter jets will carry out training exercises over northern and western Lithuania on Friday as part of the alliance’s Baltic air policing mission, the Lithuanian Armed Forces announced.

The flights will cover an area stretching from Šiauliai toward Klaipėda. Residents in the region may hear loud noises resembling explosions due to supersonic flight training in designated zones.

The Lithuanian military did not specify the duration of the exercises or the types of aircraft involved.
