ETV2 will devote a themed evening to actor Aleksander Eelmaa, whose 80th birthday fell on Nov. 6, ERR reports.
At 7.55 p.m., the channel will show “Sass, Who Walks on His Own” (2006). The programme looks back at Eelmaa’s life and career as he turns 60 and leaves a secure job at Draamateater, a theatre, for freelance work. In 1976, he appeared with Sulev Luik in Lembit Peterson’s production of “Waiting for Godot” at Noorsooteater. Thirty years later, he shared the stage with Luik’s son Markus in “The Goat with a Violin and a Fishing Rod.” The programme was written and directed by Gerda Kordemets.
At 8.45 p.m., ETV2 will screen “Lunch Break” (1984), a two-act comedy by Toomas Kall presented by Vanalinnastuudio. Roman Baskin directed the production, which features Eelmaa, Merle Talvik and Viire Valdma. Baskin also directed the film version.
At 10.25 p.m., the schedule features “Paradise of Old Men” (2005), a short film about two city officials forced into retirement from the environmental department. They decide to take on illegal fishers themselves, but a trip to a fishing village changes their lives. The film was directed by Ove Musting and produced by Downtown Pictures. Its cast includes Tõnu Aav, Eelmaa and Tõnu Oja.
