About 4.5% of voters have cast ballots during three days of early voting in the Nalšios northern constituency, an electoral district, the Central Electoral Commission said Thursday, LRT reported.

Since Tuesday, 1,135 voters have cast ballots at municipal locations, while another 140 voted at healthcare and social care institutions in the constituency. A total of 587 people voted early in Visaginas, 536 in Ignalina and 12 in Zarasai.

Turnout was highest among voters assigned to the Ignalina central polling station, where more than 11% have already voted. The Ignalina, Mielagėnai, Banga and Draugystė polling districts also recorded relatively high turnout. In Didžiasalis, Ceikiniai, Turmantas and Tverečius, turnout remains below 1%.

Home voting will take place on Friday and Saturday. It is available to people with disabilities, those caring for them at home, people unable to work because of illness and voters aged 70 or older. Electoral commission members are due to visit 1,464 voters over the two days.

Election day is Sunday, November 8, with polling stations open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. A total of 28,440 people are eligible to vote, and 11 candidates are running for the seat.

The candidates are Ignas Adomavičius of Nemuno aušra, Giedrius Dainys of the Centre-Right Union, Gintautas Kindurys of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union, Vladislavas Kondratovičius of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, Nikolajus Lebedevičius of the Lithuanian Regions Party, Maksimas Paukštė of the Freedom Party, Mėta Paulauskė of the Liberal Movement, Antanas Šakalys of the Union of Democrats For Lithuania, Andrejus Šildiajevas of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats, Dalia Štraupaitė of the Union of the Nation and Justice, and Viktoras Voroninas of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania-Christian Families Alliance.
