The Estonian National Museum will open an exhibition on silver and goldsmiths from 1918 to 1944 on Friday, ERR reports.

The exhibition, titled “Silver from Estonia, 1918-1944: Known and unknown goldsmiths,” presents the craftsmanship and creative work of goldsmiths active during the period. More than 400 goldsmiths worked in Estonia between 1918 and 1944, including masters with their own businesses and workshops, as well as artisans who fulfilled orders for larger companies.

The exhibition follows several years of research, including the examination of thousands of archival records and objects in different collections. ERR describes it as the most comprehensive overview to date of the goldsmiths of the period, their lives and their work.

The exhibition will be open in the museum gallery from November 6 until August 29, 2027.
