Estonia, Põlva, victory day

Estonia’s 2027 Victory Day parade will take place in Põlva on June 23, while the country’s Independence Day parade will be held in Tallinn on February 24, ERR reported, citing a letter from the Office of the President.

The letter, signed by office director Paavo Nõgene, conveyed President Ülle Madise’s wish to hold the state parades in the two cities. It was sent to the commander of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Andrus Merilo, and the head of the Defence League, Major General Ilmar Tamm. Copies were also sent to the defence minister, the mayor of Tallinn and the head of Põlva municipality.

Estonia’s Independence Day parade is usually held at Freedom Square in Tallinn. The Victory Day parade rotates between counties and cities and is organised by the Defence League. Põlva last hosted it in 2014.
