Police seize suspected drugs from volunteer soldier

Police seized suspected drugs from a Lithuanian volunteer soldier in Varėna district, LRT reported.

At about 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, officers stopped a Renault Laguna for inspection in the town of Merkinė. The car was driven by the soldier, born in 1997, who was off duty and not wearing a uniform.

During the inspection, police found and seized a plastic bag containing white powder suspected to be a narcotic substance. A pre-trial investigation has been opened into unlawful possession of narcotic substances without intent to distribute.
