Kirill Klaus, who left the Social Democratic Party in August, has been selected to lead the Kristiine activity centre, ERR reported. He previously headed the party’s Lasnamäe branch.

A public competition for the manager’s post attracted 93 applications. The selection panel asked 14 candidates to submit video introductions, then invited five to interviews. After hearing the candidates, it chose Klaus.

If the Tallinn city government approves the panel’s decision on Tuesday, Klaus will take up the post on November 4.

According to the business register, Klaus was a member of the Social Democratic Party from January 5, 2018, to August 7, 2026. He stood in the 2025 local elections in Lasnamäe, Tallinn, received 43 votes and was not elected.
