Tickets for some popular performances at Estonia’s Draamateater sold out online within minutes on Monday, ERR reported. Tickets for performances in January and February went on sale that day, and some remained available only until the afternoon.
By 1:30 p.m., about 500 tickets had been bought at the box office and around 8,400 through online channels, communications manager Tanel Tomson said.
The theatre introduced sales limits on Monday: it did not accept group bookings for popular productions, and buyers could purchase no more than four tickets at a time. Tomson said the restrictions meant tickets were available to more people, who had responded to the change with understanding.
The theatre is also limiting ticket purchases made using bots. Tomson said it had identified and blocked some bot users in previous sales, but there had not been many.
