A privately established nature education centre has opened in Karinu village, Järvamaa, in a renovated barn at Tenno farm, ERR reported.

The centre, Tenno Nature School, was established after several nature houses run by the Environmental Board closed. The non-profit association Tenno Matkad will organise nature courses there for people of all ages.

“We previously had a campsite and hiking trails, and made use of Estonia’s nature. Now we have our own classroom, along with toilets and a storage room for our equipment,” hiking guide Andreas Sapas said.

Tenno Nature School aims to promote environmental education in central Estonia and encourage people of all ages to reconnect with nature, Sapas said.
