Lithuanian lawmakers spent nearly €1.94 million on parliamentary work in the first nine months of 2026, with the Nemunas Dawn parliamentary group recording the highest average spending per member, LRT reports. Transport was the largest overall expense category.
Data from the Seimas Ethics and Procedures Commission show that lawmakers spent €233,000 more than in the same period last year. The increase came as the amount used to calculate monthly allowances was higher; members receive an allocation equal to 0.8 of the average monthly wage.
Nemunas Dawn member Tomas Domarkas reported the highest individual total, spending €18,181. Of that, €8,738 went on vehicle rental and €7,113 on vehicle operation and maintenance. He also spent €200 on repairs.
Democrat Tomas Tomilinas spent €18,176, followed by mixed parliamentary group member Ignas Vėgėlė with €18,175, Social Democrat Tadas Prajara with €18,166 and Conservative Audrius Petrošius with €18,161. Nearly one-third of lawmakers spent more than €17,000. Conservatives Ingrida Šimonytė and Gintarė Skaistė reported no parliamentary-work expenses, while Raimondas Kuodis spent less than €25.
