Artists including 35maffia, Meelik and Kitty Florentine have released new music ahead of Halloween, ERR reports. The latest releases also include tracks by Coldwave, Planeet and other Estonian musicians.
New singles
Coldwave, which released its debut single in late August, has followed up with the R&B track “Overload”. Its detailed sound draws more on mainstream pop than on Estonian jazz, with a chorus that has a distinctive, driving rhythm. Some of the song’s groove recalls George Michael’s more energetic tracks.
Alternative pop-electronic artist Kitty Florentine has released “Are u kind”, made with producer Rando Arandi. Florentine is currently based in Berlin, and the new single may point towards a forthcoming album.
35maffia has released “Juuksur” as the band prepares to issue its debut album on November 20. The group, which drew attention in spring with “Sydames”, has gone from eight members in March to four: Eqs, Mailill, Rögabert and producer Filipp. The new single largely sticks to the band’s strengths, adding a more forceful edge to its garage sound. Rapper Kohver, head of Kurvad Uudised Records, also contributed lyrics.
Meelik has released “Kaugel eemal” after audiences at the band’s concerts asked for the song. It was left off the group’s 2025 debut album, “(Tööpealkiri)”.
Drum and bass producer Planeet has released his fifth single of the year, “Kadunud Maailm”, featuring vocalist Karl Killing. The track is expected to appear on Planeet’s third album, due on November 27, alongside some of his other released songs.
Reelika Sommer, a student at Viljandi Culture Academy who performs as Reelika, has released her sixth single, “Tantsima, tantsima”. The bossa nova-inspired track was made with Silver Jusilo and Georgii Drobot.
Prodigyboys, once a rap quintet and now closer to a pop group or boy band, have released their second album, “Moosekandid”. The album plays with pop music conventions, particularly those heard on mainstream radio in the past two decades. “Tegin pahandust”, featuring Kanapoeg, a member of Triibupasta, also draws on early Southern US bounce and its laser-like synthesizers.
Amsterdam-based artist, vocalist and composer Mar Omin has teamed up with Estonian producer and composer Sander Mölder on “Nothing Holds Me Back”. The R&B-pop song, inspired by symphonic electronic music, is set to appear on an EP next spring. Its chorus bears a close resemblance to Panda Bear’s vocals on Animal Collective’s “Girls”.
Sadu has released its second album, “Teine vaatus”. All of its track titles are written in an unusual style.
