Singer Daniel Levi says the song “Dust” brought him back to Eesti Laul, Estonia’s song contest, for a fourth time. He told ERR that while writing an album, he felt the track deserved a bigger moment, so he removed it from the album at the last minute and submitted it to the contest.

Levi said he was pleased with the decision, adding that the song seemed to matter as much to the jury as it did to him. He said the choice reminded him to believe in himself.

Unlike his earlier work, “Dust” deals with more serious themes, Levi said. The song reflects how quickly the world changes and how things that once seemed dependable, such as security and health, can suddenly disappear.

Faith helps him through difficult times, he said. He described it as something no one can take away and as a deeply personal belief in what matters to you.

Although Levi has taken part in Eesti Laul before, he said he wants to approach each new song as a fresh start. He believes “Dust” deserves its own show, with elements that support its story.
