Latvia’s Supreme Court has ruled inadmissible a request to cancel certification of the 15th Saeima election results and hold a repeat vote, while referring a candidate-list dispute to another court, LSM reported.
The Supreme Court said it had received two applications concerning the election and its results. Last week, it rejected Lejnieks-Puķe’s complaint against a Central Election Commission decision that left unexamined his request to challenge vote-counting protocols from several polling stations.
Part of the other application, concerning the alleged unlawful registration of a candidate list and related claims, was sent to the Administrative Regional Court. The request to cancel certification of the election results and call a new election was ruled inadmissible because the applicant was neither a candidate-list submitter nor a nominated candidate entitled by law to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
The 15th Saeima election was held on October 3, and the Central Election Commission officially approved the results on October 16.
