Latvia’s government has approved an additional €2.23 million in state funding for seven foreign film productions scheduled to shoot in the country in 2027, LSM reports.

The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia approved the projects in its fourth selection round. They will receive a total of €2,681,740.89 in state co-financing: €447,060 from the agency’s 2026 budget and €2,234,680.89 in additional funding for 2027. The government authorised the Ministry of Economics to take on the long-term budget commitments needed to provide the 2027 funding.

The projects are “Pegasus” and “Westwell,” submitted by Nafta Films; two versions of “People Upstairs,” submitted by Centaur Films; “Love in the Sacred and the Profane,” submitted by White Picture; “The Bus Job,” submitted by Tasse Film; and “Tarot: Castle of Shadows,” submitted by Cinevilla Films.

The agency expects the co-financing to boost the competitiveness and export capacity of Latvian companies, support local businesses and create opportunities for international and local cooperation.
