Lithuanian police have opened a pre-trial investigation after a US-based centre reported that a minor girl in Telšiai County possessed a pornographic video depicting children, LRT reported.
Telšiai County Police said they received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on October 22. The report said the girl, born in 2009, had the video in a social networking app at 10 p.m. on September 21.
The centre is a nonprofit organization that provides information about missing and exploited children. Lithuania’s Criminal Code allows penalties for possessing pornographic material, including community service, a fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for one to five years.
