Army launches three-day exercise in Alytus and Varėna districts
Lithuanian Army soldiers will begin a three-day exercise in Alytus and Varėna districts on Sunday, LRT reported.
Soldiers from the Iron Wolf Infantry Brigade will march and make stops in forests and surrounding areas across both districts. Pyrotechnics and simulated ammunition will be used only in the Lavyso and Jakulių forests and nearby areas, the army said.
Organisers said they would follow environmental protection rules, keep military vehicles on roads and avoid disrupting civilians’ daily activities. The exercise will run until Tuesday.
