Rain holds off across Lithuania until evening as winds strengthen
Rain is not expected in Lithuania until evening on Sunday, when it will reach western districts, while winds will strengthen during the day, LRT reports. Forecaster Tadas Kantautas of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service told LRT Radio that morning clouds should gradually clear.
Winds from the southeast and south will become strong, with gusts of 15 to 18 metres per second in some places. Temperatures will reach 9 to 14 degrees Celsius. Kantautas said Sunday would be less pleasant than Saturday, despite the rain-free day.
Rain is forecast in many parts of the country overnight into Monday, with heavier falls expected in the west. On Monday, showers are expected in eastern districts during the first half of the day and mainly along the western edge of the country; central Lithuania should be drier. Temperatures will reach 8 to 13 degrees as cooler air moves in.
