Riga offers free support group for men affected by violence

Men affected by violence can join a free 12-session support group starting in November in Riga, LSM reports.

The family support centre Duja and Riga municipality are inviting adult men registered as residents of Riga who have experienced, or continue to experience, any form of violence and its effects to apply.

Sessions led by psychologists and psychotherapists will provide a safe space to share experiences, understand the effects of violence, build self-confidence and learn to recognise and regulate emotions. Topics will include power and control, the everyday effects of trauma, healthy relationships, self-esteem, identity and the importance of seeking support.
