An auction of the former Tallinn Music Secondary School properties in the Nõmme district of Tallinn attracted no bids, ERR reported. State-owned real estate company RKAS set the starting price at 6.09 million euros.

Bids were due Tuesday for four properties at Jannseni 38a, Vabaduse Avenue 130, Jannseni 38 and Vabaduse Avenue 130a. RKAS portfolio management department head Serob Asatrjan told ERR the company would review feedback from market participants and decide on its next sales plan by early November.

The properties cover more than 33,000 square metres. According to the auction listing, the land at Jannseni 38, Jannseni 38a and Vabaduse Avenue 130 is designated for mixed-use development, which could include residential and commercial space. Vabaduse Avenue 130a is designated for public use and social facilities, including education and community activities. The land has no valid detailed plan.

The former school complex in Nõmme became vacant in summer 2022, after the school had operated there for more than six decades. On September 1 that year, it merged with Georg Ots Tallinn Music School and Tallinn Ballet School to form the state-run Tallinn Music and Ballet School, or MUBA, which began teaching in a new building on Pärnu maantee.
