Sylvester Stallone’s memoirs have been published in Estonian by publisher Tänapäev, ERR reports. The book, titled “Stairs,” was translated from English by Margit Pent.

The Oscar-winning actor and screenwriter recounts his unusual path to the top of the film industry, including his difficult childhood, school years and seemingly elusive breakthrough.

The title refers to the famous scene in “Rocky” in which Stallone runs up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The image also reflects his own struggle to advance and prove himself.

The memoir focuses on Stallone’s early years in New York, as he pursued his calling despite difficulties and fought to get the “Rocky” screenplay made, with himself in the leading role. The story culminates in his triumph at the 1977 Academy Awards.

A feature film about the making of “Rocky,” titled “I Am Rocky,” is also due in cinemas in November. Anthony Ippolito plays Stallone.
