Lithuanian border guards turned back two irregular migrants at the border with Belarus in the past 24 hours, the State Border Guard Service said, according to LRT.

Latvia’s border service, which is facing a large influx of irregular migrants, prevented 32 people from entering the country on Tuesday. Polish officials said they had not recorded any such cases.

Lithuanian officials have prevented more than 1,600 people from entering from Belarus at unofficial crossing points so far this year, including 1,695 this year. Since the start of the migration crisis involving Belarus, about 26,200 people have been barred from entering Lithuania.

Migrants began arriving in large numbers in eastern European Union countries in 2021. Western countries accused the Minsk regime of being behind the movement.
