Arvo Pärt’s album …Lente has won the vocal music award at the Edison Klassiek 2026 ceremony, ERR reported. The recording features the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Concerto Copenhagen, conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste.

The album includes Pärt’s works “Stabat Mater,” “Festina lente,” “Trisagion,” “Silouan’s Song” and “Berliner Messe.” The soloists are soprano Marie Roos, countertenor Danila Frantou and tenor Toomas Tohert.

Recorded in August 2024 at the Niguliste Museum, the album was engineered by Preben Iwan and released by Berlin Classics.

The jury praised the recording’s spatial quality and mysterious atmosphere. It said the Danish Baroque ensemble’s strings pair well with the choir’s clear voices, creating images of a duet between earth and heaven. The recording, it added, deepens the impression of a musical universe that comes from eternity and returns to it.

Edison Klassiek is the Netherlands’ leading classical music award and one of the world’s oldest recording awards. The ceremony will take place in Hilversum on October 25, with Kaljuste attending.
