Lithuania convened its National Security Commission on Monday after a drone crashed in the country and an attempt was reported to set fire to Starlink equipment at a company, LRT reported.

The drone entered Lithuania and crashed in the Pasvalys district on Sunday morning, damaging a civilian car. Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas said it was a consequence of Ukraine’s attack on St Petersburg. Ukraine apologised to Lithuania.

Red air-raid alerts were issued in Šiauliai and Panevėžys counties, and a yellow alert in Kaunas. The alerts were lifted in all three areas about an hour later.

Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius said an attempt was made at about 2 a.m. on Sunday to set fire to Starlink communications equipment at an unnamed company. He said the incident did not disrupt the company’s operations, cause significant damage or interrupt Starlink service.
