Publishing house ;Paranoia has released Kiwa’s experimental novel “Millimullimallikad”, a conceptual sequel to the author’s debut, “Kummiliimiallikad”, ERR reports.

The book combines speculative prose, technopoetics, absurdism, philosophical science fiction and post-internet aesthetics. It unfolds in a distorted space-time where different eras, layers of information and realities coexist, while people’s consciousness comes under pressure from fragmenting meanings, digital ruins and imagined memory systems.

Lost subcultures, fictional bands, broken URLs, artificially generated identities and “large passionless objects” form a new metaphysical environment. One strand takes readers to an isolated boarding school and its surroundings, where different layers of time seem to overlap physically and characters experience reality dissolving. Another explores the boundaries of consciousness, memory and simulation, addressing identity, existence, the loss of meaning and the autonomy of imagination.

The novel has a fragmented, associative structure, moving between prose, pseudo-essays, surreal descriptions, interior monologues, technical language, philosophical digressions and poetic imagery.

Kiwa’s debut won the language and style award from the Estonian Language Foundation and the Estonian Language Institute at the Estonian Writers’ Union’s 2021 novel competition. Roy Strider edited the new book, Tuuli Aule designed it, and Mihkel Kleis created the cover.
