A passenger died after falling ill aboard a Vilnius-Kaunas train at Vilnius railway station on Sunday, LRT reported, citing the news portal 15min.lt.

Emergency medical services were called, but the passenger died despite medics’ efforts. Officials worked at the scene, and the train could not depart. Passengers were asked to transfer to another train.

A passenger later criticised rail operator LTG Link on social media, saying travellers had been left without information for a time about what had happened or when the train would leave. LTG Link confirmed the passenger’s death and the cancellation of the service to 15min.lt.
