Residents of Bauska, Aizkraukle and Ogre municipalities received an orange cell broadcast warning of a possible airspace threat on Sunday, Latvia’s National Armed Forces said, LSM reported.

The armed forces have said that incidents involving foreign unmanned aircraft entering or approaching Latvian airspace could recur while Russia’s aggression against Ukraine continues. A yellow cell broadcast is informational, while an orange alert signals a detected threat and calls for people to follow the instructions provided.

People in a threatened area who are indoors should take shelter where at least two walls separate them from the outside. Anyone in a car should assess the situation, continue to a safe place or get out, move away from the road and seek nearby shelter.

If an explosion is heard, people should stay indoors and away from windows and doors. After an explosion, they should leave only when authorities issue instructions or at least 10 minutes have passed since the last blast. They should move cautiously, avoid posting photos or videos on social media, and go to a basement or shelter only if the early warning system directs them to do so.
