A Vilnius court has extended temporary restrictions on the assets of Vilhelmas Germanas, Mindaugas Navickas and Alfonsas Ambrazas for six months, LRT reported. The three are accused of fraudulently acquiring cryptocurrency mining equipment worth more than 23 million euros in a case linked to the investigation into Foxpay.

The Vilnius City District Court extended the restrictions on Germanas’s funds to secure a civil claim in the case and possible confiscation of assets. The same grounds apply to restrictions on Navickas’s virtual currency, apartment, part of a plot of land, workshop building and funds.

Restrictions on Ambrazas’s apartment, car and funds were also extended for six months. The rulings take effect immediately and can be appealed to the Vilnius Regional Court within seven days.

In mid-September, the district court returned the criminal case against Germanas, Navickas, Ambrazas and Andrius Razma to a prosecutor in the Prosecutor General’s Office for corrections, setting a six-month deadline.

The court said much of the case material had been translated into Lithuanian using the European Commission’s eTranslation tool. It found the automated translation unsuitable under the current legal rules. The court also said important witnesses had not been questioned during the pre-trial investigation.

The case was separated from the wider Foxpay investigation, in which authorities suspect the laundering of at least 17 million euros obtained illegally and bribes totalling 100,000 euros. Prosecutors said in 2024 that the investigation also covers alleged embezzlement, theft, large-scale fraud, bribery and money laundering.
