Adamkus’s health improves, but he will remain in hospital

Former Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus’s health is improving, but he will remain at Santaros Clinics hospital through the weekend for postoperative care, the hospital said Friday, LRT reported.

Doctors will decide on Monday how his treatment should proceed, according to the statement.

The Presidency said last week that Adamkus was admitted to hospital on September 26 after a sudden health problem. Following examinations, he underwent surgery, which was reported to have gone smoothly.
