STT declines to open probe into Malinauskas’s municipal appointment

Lithuania’s Special Investigation Service (STT) has decided not to open a pre-trial investigation into the appointment of former Druskininkai mayor Ričardas Malinauskas as chief adviser in the resort town’s administration, LRT reported.

“After assessing the circumstances established during the review, on October 12 it was decided not to open a pre-trial investigation because no signs of a corruption-related criminal offence were found,” STT spokesperson Renata Keblienė told the ELTA news agency.
