No irregular migrants were turned back at Lithuania’s border with Belarus on Wednesday, the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) said, LRT reported.

Latvia’s border service refused entry to four irregular migrants, while Polish officials reported no such attempts on Tuesday.

VSAT said Lithuanian officers prevented more than 1,650 people from entering the country from Belarus at unauthorised locations last year and 1,693 so far this year. Since the start of the migration crisis caused by Belarus, about 26,300 irregular migrants have been denied entry to Lithuania.

Migrants began arriving in eastern European Union countries in 2021. Western countries blamed the Minsk regime for the arrivals.
