A teenage girl fell from an apartment building window in Klaipėda’s Old Town on Wednesday morning, LRT reports. Her family had previously received assistance from child-rights officials.

Klaipėda County police confirmed they received a report at about 10 a.m. Police spokesperson Andromeda Grauslienė said officers would investigate the circumstances, but she had no information on whether a pre-trial investigation had been opened.

News website 15min reported that the girl fell from a third-floor window and was taken into the care of medics.

Gintarė Noliūtė, a spokesperson for the State Child Rights Protection and Adoption Service, said officials were seeking information about the girl’s health. The agency plans to contact her and her parents to assess the situation and determine what support the family may need to ensure her safety.

Noliūtė said the family had previously received support initiated by child-rights officials, with services provided by the Klaipėda City Family and Child Welfare Centre.
