Cloudy skies and light rain are forecast across much of Lithuania on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 14 degrees, LRT reports, citing Paulius Starkus, a forecaster at the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

There may be sunny spells early in the day in eastern parts of the country, and briefly in western areas in the afternoon. Rain is expected in many districts, but amounts should be small. Winds from the south and southwest will strengthen, shifting to the west and northwest in western Lithuania. Gusts along the coast may reach 15 to 17 metres per second.

Temperatures will range from 9 to 14 degrees, with the coolest conditions in the east and the warmest along the coast.

Little change is expected on Thursday night, with mostly cloudy skies, occasional sunny spells and light rain in many areas. Westerly winds will remain fairly strong, with coastal gusts of up to 15 to 17 metres per second. Temperatures will fall to 3 to 8 degrees, though it will be around 10 degrees along the coast.

During Thursday, the cyclone will begin to move away. Clouds will remain widespread, but sunny spells should become more frequent in the afternoon, especially in western Lithuania. Rain will ease and winds will weaken. Temperatures will range from 10 to 15 degrees.
