Madise sets presidential office director’s salary at 8,000 euros

Estonian President Ülle Madise has set the monthly salary of presidential office director Paavo Nõgene at 8,000 euros, ERR reported.

Madise signed an order on Monday appointing Nõgene to the post from Tuesday for the duration of her presidential term. His salary is about 33 percent higher than the 6,010 euros a month paid to his predecessor, Krista Zibo, after a salary increase in January.

Madise offered Nõgene the position in September. He has led a state institution, served as secretary general of the Ministry of Culture and headed the international listed company AS Tallink Grupp, she said at the time.
