The University of Tartu Art Museum has opened a trail inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, guiding visitors along Odysseus’s journey from the Trojan War back to the island of Ithaca, ERR reports.
Integrated into the museum’s permanent exhibition, the trail features works from its collection connected with the war and Odysseus’s travels. Stops that could not be linked to an artwork are marked with playful designs.
A map leads visitors between 14 stops. At each one, they can learn about an event from the Odyssey, reflect on it or complete a task. The route introduces visitors to ancient gods, heroes and mythological creatures, some of whose names live on in modern language with changed meanings.
