Rain and thunderstorms to continue into new week
Rain is set to continue across Estonia as a low-pressure system moves over the Baltic Sea towards the Baltic states on Monday, ERR reports. Thunderstorms remain possible, and some showers may be heavy.
Rain will spread from the southwest overnight. On Monday, heavier rain is expected to linger over central and northern Estonia, while the south should have longer breaks between showers. Winds will be light inland near the centre of the low, but strong northeasterly winds are forecast on the northern coast.
Monday night will bring rain to many places, with temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees Celsius and up to 11 degrees on the coast. Daytime temperatures will reach 8 to 13 degrees. On Tuesday, the low-pressure system will move east and pressure will rise. Showers are expected in many places overnight, but only isolated showers during the day. Temperatures will range from 2 to 7 degrees overnight, up to 10 degrees on the coast, and 7 to 12 degrees during the day.
Wednesday night is expected to be mostly dry and cool, with temperatures in northeastern Estonia falling to zero and remaining a few degrees above zero elsewhere. A new area of rain and strong winds is forecast during the day, with temperatures around 10 degrees. Few rain clouds are expected on Thursday and Friday. Daytime temperatures will reach 10 to 15 degrees, while overnight temperatures will depend on cloud cover.
