Intoxicated woman strikes police officer in Panevėžys

LRT reported that a police officer responding to a call in Panevėžys was struck in the face by an intoxicated woman on Saturday night.

Officers arrived at an address on Smėlynės Street at about 10 p.m. The woman, born in 1980, resisted an investigator from the Panevėžys City and District Police Station and deliberately hit her in the face.

The woman was detained and found to have a blood alcohol level of 2.86 per mille. A pre-trial investigation has been opened into suspected resistance to a public official or a person performing public administration functions.
