Newborn found in Tauragė hospital’s baby hatch

A four- to five-day-old boy was found late Friday in a baby hatch at Tauragė Hospital, LRT reported.

Police said the newborn was found at about 10.26pm on October 9 at the hospital on V. Kudirkos Street in Tauragė.

Police said they had collected material under a Criminal Code article concerning a parent, guardian or other legal representative who leaves a young child unable to care for himself without necessary supervision, intending to abandon him. The report also said no liability is provided for leaving a child in a baby hatch.
