Saturday to bring strong winds and showers
Saturday will be windy, with heavier rain spreading from the islands to the mainland in the afternoon, ERR reports.
The night into Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with rain in many places. Winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second inland, with gusts up to 14. On the islands and coast, northwesterly and westerly winds will reach 8 to 14 metres per second, with gusts of up to 22. Temperatures will range from 4 to 12 degrees Celsius.
Saturday morning will bring occasional showers and winds of 5 to 11 metres per second, with gusts up to 17. Temperatures will be 7 to 12 degrees. Rain will be scattered in the morning, before a heavier band reaches the islands in the afternoon and moves onto the mainland by evening. Temperatures will rise to 8 to 14 degrees.
Winds will ease inland in the evening but strengthen again around the Gulf of Riga, with gusts reaching 17 metres per second.
Rain showers are expected on Sunday, with thunderstorms possible on the islands. Coastal winds may reach 15 metres per second. Temperatures will be 3 to 12 degrees overnight and 11 to 15 during the day.
Showers are also expected during the first days of next week. Winds will ease somewhat, though gusts may still reach 15 metres per second in places. Nights will turn colder, with minimum temperatures locally falling to between zero and one degree.
