Rain will return to much of Lithuania this weekend as winds gradually ease, with frost possible at ground level early next week, LRT reported, citing Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecaster Elena Klyukina.

Winds will ease overnight into Saturday, though brief showers are possible in some places, mainly in the north. Temperatures will fall to 6–11 degrees Celsius. Saturday will be cloudy, with rain in many areas. Southwesterly and southerly winds will remain fairly strong, with gusts of 8–13 metres per second and gusts of 15–18 m/s along the coast. Daytime temperatures will reach 11–16 degrees.

Sunday will also be rainy. Showers are expected in some places overnight and across much of the country during the day. Temperatures will range from 6–11 degrees overnight, reaching about 13 degrees on the coast, and 12–17 degrees during the day.

Rain is expected in many areas on Monday. Overnight temperatures will be 3–8 degrees, or 9–11 degrees on the coast. Ground frost of up to 3 degrees below zero may form in some places. Daytime temperatures will reach 10–15 degrees.

The middle of next week is forecast to bring no significant rain, but ground frost is expected to spread to many areas and strengthen to as low as 5 degrees below zero.
