Police seize about seven kilograms of suspected cannabis in two towns

Police found about seven kilograms of suspected cannabis in the towns of Šilalė and Šilutė, LRT reported, citing the Police Department. Around two kilograms were found in a car, and a further five kilograms were discovered in an apartment.

At about 7:25 p.m. on Thursday, officers stopped a Volkswagen Passat on Rytinio Kelio Street in Šilalė. The car was driven by a man born in 2003, with a man born in 1998 as a passenger. Police seized around two kilograms of plant material, suspected to be cannabis. The two men may have obtained it from a man born in 1994.

At about 10:30 p.m. the same evening, officers searching an apartment in Šilutė found and seized around five kilograms of plant material, also suspected to be cannabis.

All three men were detained at the Klaipėda County Chief Police Commissariat. A pre-trial investigation has been opened into the illegal possession of narcotic substances without intent to distribute and the illegal possession of a large quantity of narcotic substances.
