Connections have been fully restored to all institutions affected by cable damage in Vilnius, the State Telecommunications Centre (KVTC) said, according to LRT. The cables were damaged on Wednesday during road drilling, disrupting communications for some clinics and radio stations.
KVTC said it had found no indication that the cables were damaged deliberately. The consequences of the incident have been resolved.
News website 15min.lt reported that the cable was damaged during works on Laisvės Avenue. Citing sources, it said the incident disrupted the work of the Karoliniškės and Šeškinė clinics, as well as the Customs Criminal Service and the radio data systems of some stations. The fault reportedly interrupted broadcasts by M1 Dance Klaipėda. The outlet said other institutions were not affected.
