Mulma appointed as fourth deputy justice minister

Česlovas Mulma began work at the Ministry of Justice on Tuesday as its fourth deputy minister, LRT reported, citing the ministry.
Mulma will oversee the penal enforcement system and coordinate safety investigations. His responsibilities will also include the Lithuanian Prison Service, the Lithuanian Probation Service and the Lithuanian Forensic Science Centre.
Justice Minister Rita Tamašunienė said she was pleased to welcome an experienced officer to her team and expected his knowledge and practical experience to strengthen policymaking and help improve the work of the prison and probation services.
Mulma was appointed head of the Alytus city and district police station in 2006. He led the Alytus County Chief Police Commissariat from 2008 to 2017, then served as deputy interior minister responsible for public security from 2017 to 2020.
The other deputy justice ministers are Barbara Aliaševičienė, Martynas Dobrovolskis and Kristina Zamarytė-Sakavičienė. Liucina Kotlovska is the ministry’s chancellor.
