Tallinn exhibition showcases 88 young Estonian artists
An exhibition featuring work by 88 young Estonian artists has opened at Art & Tonic gallery in Tallinn, ERR reported. Admission is free, and the exhibition will culminate in an auction on October 23.
Nearly 400 works by 203 artists were submitted for the 11th edition of “Buy Young Art”. A jury selected works by 88 artists. The exhibition is open through October 22.
Reigo Kuivjõgi, the initiative’s organiser and Art & Tonic gallery owner, said this year’s selection stood out for its quality and variety, with more debuting artists than usual. The works include paintings, prints, drawings, collages, photographs and sculptures, with prices starting at one euro.
Kristjan-Thor Vähi, an entrepreneur and head of Invego who served on the jury, said the quality of the submissions made the selection difficult. He said events like the exhibition help emerging artists reach audiences beyond the art world and make their work more accessible to potential buyers.
